Children's magic

In the mornings and in the afternoons from Monday to Friday the visiting groups perform their programmes on the Main Square stage to the great enjoyment of the inhabitants of Kecskemét, the guest children and many tourists who often spend hours watching the shows. During the week each group comes on stage 2-3 times.

The shows performed by the children's groups give an insight into the traditions of their country or smaller region by including their folk music and dances. All the colourful traditional costumes worn by the Polish, Portuguese, Turkish, Korean or by the Hungarian children from Transylvania are special sights on their own.

Other foreign groups perform modern dances or even acrobatic performances. Such groups are the Primavera from Bucharest, the Taxmen group from the Czech Republic and the groups from Ungvár and Gyergyószentmiklós.

During the years many "professional" groups took part in the festival, so this event developed to be one of the best art festival in Europe. Many dance groups involve children from different age groups for 8-16.
Many of our guest group also perform on other cultural events all over Europe, but our festival is still considered to be a special occasion for them.
